CONTRIBUTION OF COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY IMAGING IN CERVICAL SPINE TRAUMA

چکیده

● Morbidity and mortality resulting from cervical spine injury depend on the mechanism of its level . They are higher in case levels injury, craniocervical junction injuries have highest mortality. ● The fracture predictivity standard radiograph is low when severity high, MDCT has replaced radiography as initial imaging modality with much sensitivity to evaluate suspected injuries.● Multidetector CT provides a faster more comprehensive display spinal anatomy than does radiography.● CT was used problem-solving tool for inadequately shown segments spine, typically cervicothoracic junctions.● Protocols that based whole allow multiplanar display, two three dimensional reformats by using reformatted images axial data set. ● Previously, most commonly classifications fractures were those Allen-Ferguson (68) AO. More recently, SLIC classification (69) added neurological status another factor consider.

Factors associated with the use of cervical spine computed tomography imaging in pediatric trauma patients.

OBJECTIVES The objectives were to identify patient and hospital characteristics associated with the use of computed tomography (CT) imaging of the cervical spine (c-spine) in the evaluation of injured children and, in particular, to examine the influence of hospital setting. METHODS This was a retrospective cohort of children younger than 19 years of age from the Massachusetts Hospital Emerge...

Computed Tomography of Thoracolumbar Spine Trauma.

Thoracolumbar spine trauma typically occurs when high-energy forces damage bony and ligamentous spinal structures and, in severe cases, the spinal cord. These injuries often cause considerable neurological deficits as a result of the damage. Computed tomography (CT) is the imaging method of choice for determining injury severity in most victims of multiple trauma. In addition to describing vari...

Prospective evaluation of multislice computed tomography versus plain radiographic cervical spine clearance in trauma patients.

BACKGROUND The objective of this study was to compare the utility of plain radiographs to multislice computed tomography (MCT) for cervical spine (c-spine) evaluation. We hypothesized that plain radiographs add no clinically relevant diagnostic information to MCT in the screening evaluation of the c-spine of trauma patients. METHODS This was a prospective, unblinded, consecutive series of inj...

Cervical spine magnetic resonance imaging in alert, neurologically intact trauma patients with persistent midline tenderness and negative computed tomography results.

STUDY OBJECTIVE We aim to determine the prevalence and factors associated with cervical discoligamentous injuries detected on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in acute, alert, neurologically intact trauma patients with computed tomography (CT) imaging negative for acute injury and persistent midline cervical spine tenderness. We present the cross-sectional analysis of baseline information colle...
